Aam Aadmi Party News: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia on Sunday compared his relationship with party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to that of Lord Ram and Lakshman. He also attacked the BJP and said that no Raavan can separate them.
BJP’s Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva hit back, saying Sisodia was the “king of drama” and was trying to portray himself as Laxman ahead of next month’s Ramlila.
‘No Ravana can separate us’
Meanwhile, at Kejriwal’s first ‘Janta Ki Adalat’ rally at Jantar Mantar after his resignation as Delhi chief minister, Sisodia alleged that the BJP wanted to separate him from Arvind Kejriwal but no “Ravana has the power to separate Laxman from Lord Ram”.
He said, “As long as Arvind Kejriwal continues to fight this battle as Ram against the Ravana of dictatorship, I will stand with him as Laxman.” Sisodia further said that until the public does not accept him as honest, he will not hold the post of Deputy Chief Minister or Education Minister in Delhi.
‘Had to ask for help for son’s fees’
Attacking the BJP, Sisodia said, “When I was a journalist, I bought a small house for Rs 5 lakh in 2002 and I had Rs 10 lakh in my bank account. They seized it. My son is studying in college and I had to seek help from people to pay his fees because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) froze my bank account.”
‘I was tempted to join BJP’
The former deputy chief minister claimed that he was lured to join the BJP after he was jailed in the excise policy case. However, the BJP’s Delhi unit chief dismissed the allegation, calling it “ridiculous”. “It is surprising that he remembered to say such a thing through a well-crafted story a month and a half after his release from jail,” Sachdeva said.
Arvind Kejriwal, while resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi recently, had said that he will resume the post only after getting a certificate of honesty from the people of Delhi.
